5Good support sockJan 09, 2010
First I would like to point out that the person that reviewed this product and stated that they are very sheer is reviewing the wrong product. This is a sport sock not a sheer stocking.

I am a nurse; for years I worked a position where I walked about 1-2 miles per shift and stood for 8-9 hours of my 10 hour shift, now I walk 5 to 7 miles over an 8 hour shift, if I get to sit for an hour out of the 8 it is a good day. These socks help with both standing for many hours and now walking for many hours. I was having problems with swelling in my feet, ankles and lower legs. With these socks that problem has been eliminated.

They are very comfortable and look just like regular sport socks. I have worn other support hose and have had co-workers ask me if I was wearing support stockings, but with these socks I have never been asked that question.

They give support from the toes to the knees (so I am also baffled by the reviewer that said they don't give support to the foot. They would not be a very good support sock if they didn't.) The support to the foot is less than the leg (as it is with all gradient compression stockings) but there is support in the foot area. They are easy to get on and comfortable to wear.

I wash them in the washer and dry them in the dryer on low or medium heat. I have had these for a year and they look almost new and the support has not decreased over the many washings and machine dryings.

They did the trick for me and I highly recommend them. This is also the best price that I found anywhere and it arrived sooner than I expected.

5Excellent support, and comfortableNov 03, 2009
Believe it or not, other knee high stockings have always been too long for me, so the previous review of "seemed shorter than others", while true, works for me...while I am taller than average for a woman(5'10"), I guess the extra length is not in my calves, because other knee high support stockings always cut in behind my knees; these stop an inch or so below my knees.

I love that the foot part is just a regular sock, no support elastic there...they are absorbant like regular athletic socks, with the elastic support in the calf that, as a nurse, I need, but don't squeeze my poor, overworked nurse feet (with bunions) and cause more pain, as I have found regular support hose do. And I have size 10-11 feet, so don't think that if you have larger feet, you won't be able to wear them....you will. Just measure your calves and ankles and compare to the size chart to make sure you order the right size.

I have worn these for several years, the same pairs, I wash them in the washing machine then hang them dry to help preserve the elastic, and they've lasted me 2 years at least; don't get me wrong, they're a little knobby, and like other athletic socks, the white ones show stains from shoes, etc. but the majority of the ones I have are the black ones, which people don't actually know are athletic socks from a distance.

I find that I even wear them on my days off, they are that comfortable, and especially when sitting for long periods of time, like when travelling/flying.

I recommend these for everyone who needs moderate support. They are great.

3Seemed shorten than other knee support hoseAug 06, 2009
The service from Amazon was the best I've ever had. It was just fantastic.
The stockings looked very nice but are so sheer they are hard to get on without making a hole in them.
I have two pair of the white support knee high that I believe are the same strength-15-20 and they don't seem so fragile.
I wore the dressy black support hose to church on Sunday. I thought the dress was plenty long but when I got to church I saw the top of the hose showed below my dress.
You talk about being entertaining, well I wasn't too entertained when I noticed that my white undershirt strap also showed.
I just don't do good in 90 plus heat so was trying a cooler combination. I will be 76 on my next birthday and really don't care to "start a new look" at this time in my life.
One day I went out with knee supports and long shorts but the knee supports don't help my leg that much.
Thank you for letting me share covering my body in a decent matter. By the way, I'm
not going out of the house today.
Sincerely Bev, AKA-The Sunshine Lady
